Department of Inspection Affairs in Sports

The Section for Inspection Affairs in Sports carries out tasks related to: inspection supervision, that is, the implementation of the Law on Sports and regulations adopted based on this Law; the activity of natural persons and organizations in the field of sports; determining the fulfillment of the requirements for the performance of sports activities and operation and determining the fulfillment of the requirements for performing professional training activities for sports professions or grades; monitoring of the status and preparation of analyses, information, and notices from the Department’s competence, and other tasks from the Section's scope of work.

Who are the Sports Inspectors?

A sports inspector is a person who is authorized to perform inspection supervision, that is, to examine the implementation of this law and regulations adopted based on this Law by direct insight into the operations and activities of natural persons and organizations in the field of sports, the fulfillment of requirements for performing sports tasks and activities and fulfillment of requirements for carrying out professional training activities for sports professions and/or grades;

A sports inspector must be a faculty of law graduate or a graduate of a faculty in the field of sports, must have passed the state professional exam, and have at least three years of professional experience in the field.

ACTIVITY

Supervision of the implementation of the Law on Sports and regulations passed on the basis of the law and inspection supervision.

Legal and physical entities in the field of sports are obliged to enable the sports inspector to perform inspection supervision and to act as instructed by the inspector.

In performing inspection supervision, sports inspector shall:

  • issue an instruction in the form of a decision for the execution of measures and actions with the determination of the required deadline;
  • issue an instruction in the form of a decision to prohibit temporarily the performance of sports tasks and sports activities due to the lack of fulfillment of the requirements for their performance, until the fulfillment of the requirements;
  • issue an instruction for the establishment of a condition of a sports facility that corresponds to its purpose, at the expense of the owner of a sports facility, if the latter does not correct the identified defects within the deadline;
  • issue an instruction in the form of a decision to prohibit temporarily the use of a sports facility due to the lack of fulfillment of requirements for its use, until the fulfillment of these requirements;
  • issue an instruction in the form of a decision to prohibit temporarily the work of the sports association if it did not perform the status change in accordance with this Law;
  • takes other measures and actions for which he/she is authorized by law.
